Kayak from Rubavu to Cyimbili

After breakfast, Kayak around 10Km close to the shore of the lake and stop to some of Island for coffee plantations and bird watching and stop over at Cyimbili Guest house 18km for local lunch and leisure on shore of the Lake.

      1. Coffee tour

You will have the opportunity to learn hands on about coffee growing processes from the farmers and engage in activities such as mulching, pruning, harvesting coffee beans to sorting, peeling and roasting, amongst others. Join us for this marvelous journey through our estate and the homes of our members. Additionally, the spectacular view of the Lake Kivu will make your tour more memorable.

      2. Short hike in bushes with a traditional healer and dancers

This community, in help of Skilled guide, Visitors experience traditional healing practices, while you are hiking with them on their healing trail close on the shore of the Lake, learn about different herbs used for different types of illness. After the walk near the Lake Kvu, You are welcomed with traditional Rwandan dancers (Intore dancers) using traditional music instruments such as zither, lamellophone, horns and Intore dances. You participate and enjoy the best evening on the shore.

      3. Sunset traditional fishing experience

This fishing activity offers “Isambaza night fishing” and guided boat trips in Lake Kivu by fishermen who sustain their lives by fishing. Isambazas are tiny fishes, caught using a widespread net and three large boats connected to each other. The panoramic lights that reflect on Lake Kivu from neighboring city in Republic Democratic of Congo makes the night fishing activity an amazing experience.
