Morning hike to pottery community
Hike around 5 to 7 Km, Pottery community is situated on the Congo Nile Trail. Visit Families, who are primarily farmers. However, pottery is their heritage and ancestral activity and this motivated them to share their experience with visitors interested to learn. Unique opportunity here, you learn how Rwandans make their own household materials using clay. You can participate in mixing clay, sand and water and make a handmade craft of your choice. This creative experience is for all ages from child to grandmothers.
Boat ride to the fishing village
In an hour, boat ride with stunning views of mountains, birds close on the shore of the lake, enjoy visit some coffee Islands and it ends in one of the village market to enjoy the local lunch/packed lunch.
Short hike in bushes with a traditional healer
This community, in help of Skilled guide, Visitors experience traditional healing practices, while you are hiking with them on their healing trail close on the shore of the Lake, learn about different herbs used for different types of illness.
Traditional music performance
After the walk near the Lake Kvu, You are welcomed with traditional Rwandan dancers (Intore dancers) using traditional music instruments such as zither, lamellophone, horns and Intore dances. You participate and enjoy the best evening on the shore.
Motorboat ride to the fishermen for Sunset traditional fishing experience
Join the fishermen in their local trim ran boats, paddle and sing with them and experience how they set their lights to attract fishes. The fishermen sustain their lives by fishing the whole night and back on the shore next morning. The caught are Isambaza, the tiny fishes trapped using a widespread lift net and pushing lamps. The panoramic lights that reflect on Lake Kivu makes the night fishing activity an amazing experience, we back on the shore by motorboat around 7pm.
