Participate in activities with Kivu groups such as pottery tours to see how they blend clay for handmade products, coffee tours, and traditional dancers. Prepare to join the locals in preparing delicious local food for us before hiking to the traditional healers. On our way back to Rubavu, you have the choice of joining the fishermen; if not, a trip to the tea estate to see how tea is grown can be supplemented.
The led boat tour to visit islands such as Napoleon Island is rewarded with a stunning view of Lake Kivu from the top. On the way back to Kibuye, expect to see velvet monkeys, bats, and maybe swimming cows as you pass through Peace Island, which has a walk and swimming facility.
Relax and admire the views of Rwandan mountains on the Lake Kivu slope. We're going to Napoleon Island in Kibuye from Rubavu to hike and look for fruit bats and velvet monkeys on a neighboring island. Lunch on the beach or a cafe tour are options before returning to where you can enjoy the evening boat trip and maybe meet with the fishermen who will be fishing all night. We will entrain with them in a short time and resume our journey to our accommodation.
The Rubavu guided boat ride includes sightseeing and scenic moments, such as spectacular views of the beach, volcanoes, and other natural features. After enjoying the hot springs, take a brief walk around the peninsula to see the fishing village before returning.
